The students in Mrs. Dawe’s 4th grade class at Glen Allen Elementary have been working on elapsed time in math class. As a culminating activity, the students created a timeline of their perfect day. They used Prezi to create a presentation explaining their perfect day in terms of how much time they spent on each activity and how much time elapsed. Check it out!

Glen Allen Art Teacher SHINES!
The 3rd grade students in Mrs. Siler’s 3rd grade art class are really shining this year! The school wide theme is Illuminate the Possibilities and SHINE stands for: Self Control, Hard Work, Integrity, Never Quit, and Empathy. The students drew light bulbs that show how they SHINE in their community. We then took a photo of the lightbulbs and used the tools in Pixie to cut out the shape of the lightbulb. Then the students took a picture of themselves and decorated their Pixie page. Finally, they added voice to their photos to explain how they SHINE. Check out the finished products!
Their fabulous art teacher took this project one step further and created a QR code that links to her art blog with each classes video. The QR accompanied the art that was hung in the hallway so that parents could scan the code with their smart phones or iPads and see their finished video! Way to go Mrs. Siler & the 3rd grade students!
