Ozobots Exploration Part One

Students in Ms. Brennan’s second grade class had an opportunity to explore with Ozobots today. I introduced the tiny, codeable robots to them and showed them how they can create a path for the Ozobots to follow using white paper and markers. I displayed the different color code combinations for them to use to see if they could program the Ozobots to follow their directions. This was an introductory lesson and students quickly learned these tiny robots sometimes have minds of their own. They didn’t always follow the color code the children drew because the lines were too thick or too far apart, or the robots just decided to do their own thing! After Thanksgiving break, we are going to use the Ozobots to travel to different landmarks across the United States. The students will have to code the Ozobots so they travel to the various locations. Stay tuned to see Part Two of this lesson!
