Newsela, Text Features, and Google Slides

Fifth graders in Ms. Collawn’s class have been learning about text features. Ms. Collawn wanted a way to showcase the students’ knowledge using Google Slides and Newsela. Students logged into their Newsela account with the class code Ms. Collawn shared with them after creating her teacher account in Newsela. Using the snipping tool, they took screenshots of a variety of text features within articles they found in Newsela, saved it to their desktops, and then uploaded it into their Google Slides presentation. Later, they will refer to their notes, and add a short description of each text feature. We look forward to seeing their finished products!
