  1. 1st one is correct 7/12 -1/4 =1/3
2nd one is correct 2/3 +1/4= 11/12 you answered that
3rd one is correct 5/6 -1/2 =1/3 and your answer was that
4th one is incorrect when I calculated i got 5/12

  2. #1 is correct. 7/12 – 3/12= 4/12 which if you simplify it it = 1/3.
    #2 is correct. 2/3 = 8/12 and 1/4 = 3/12 which if you add that it = 11/12.
    #3 is correct. 1/2= 3/6 and 5/6 – 3/6 = 2/6 which is one third.
    #4 is correct and incorrect. They did eat 7/12. 3/12 + 4/12 is 7/12. But they did not have 28 left. They had 20 left. 1/3 of 48= 16. 1/4 of 48= 12. 16+12 = 28 which if is subtracted from 48 it = 20.

  3. 1)correct because you convert 1/4 to have the same denominator as 7/12. Then you subtract them. Then you simplified
2)correct because you multiply 2/3 by four so it is 8/12. Then mutiply 3 to 1/4 so it will be 3/12. Add 8/12 and 3/12 which is 11/12
3)correct because you turn 1/2 into 3/6. Then you subtract 5/6 by 3/6 which is 2/6. Then you simplify to 1/3
    4) correct. They did eat 7/12. The ate 7/12 because 1/3 is 4/12 and 1/4 is 3/12. then add them together which is 7/12. You are wrong in the second question because they ate 28, but there is 20 left.

  4. 1. Mr.Adair is right because 7/12 – 1/4 = 3/12 that equals 1/3.
    2. Mr.Adair is right because 2/3 = 8/12 and 1/4 = 3/12 and 3/12 + 8/12 =11/12
    3. Mr.Adair is right because 1/2 = 3/6 and 5/6 -3/6 is 2/6 that equals 1/3
    4. Mr.Adair is half right because 1/4 + 1/3 = 7/12 but he does not have 28 oranges left he took 28 oranges

  5. 1. Mr. Adair is correct. Because 1/4=3/12. 7/12-3/12=4/12. 4/12=1/3
    2. Mr Adair is correct. Because 2/3=8/12. 1/4=3/12. 8/12+3/12=11/12
    3. Mr Adair is correct. Because 1/2=3/6. 5/6-3/6=2/6. 2/6=1/3
    4. Mr Adair is incorrect. Because 1/4=3/4. 1/3=4/12. 3/12+4/12=7/12. 7/12 is more than half but 28 is more than half of 48. if you take away 7/12 from 48 you get 20.
