At the end of the school year, Mindy Adamonis (4th grade teacher at Trevvett), invited me in to do a math lesson with her students that involved 3D Printing. The students created a scenario in which they would need to make cookies. They came up with ideas from favors at a birthday party to dog treats for customers at a pet resort. They then searched for a recipe for rolled out dough that would work with cookie cutters. They had to determine how many people they were expecting and double, triple, etc. the recipe in order to accommodate their event. Finally, the students designed a cookie cutter in Tinkercad. They linked their finished designs to Google Classroom, so Matt Caratachea (ITRT) and I could download and print their designs on the 3D printer. They totally impressed us with their design skills and the cookie cutters turned out great! Check it out!
