Reflection of Light in Scratch

The 5th grade students in Ms. McNamee’s class continued their practice with coding in Scratch. Today they created projects to show what happens when light hits a mirror. They programmed entirely from scratch!! They started by taking a picture of themselves holding a flashlight and using the eraser tool to cut out the background.

Next they uploaded a picture of a mirror or selected a background that already had a mirror. Finally, they drew 2 more sprites to be the rays of light. Then they started coding their sprites to animate and show the light hitting the mirror and bouncing back. Check out their awesome work samples:
