2nd Grade Postcards

In Ms. Aquilina’s 2nd grade class we had the students collaboratively working on an awesome continent project.  The students researched a particular continent in groups of 3.  Once they had all of their information gathered the students went to their Google Drives and opened up a folder that Ms. Aqulina and I shared with them.  In the folder we had set up subfolders for each student group, we also had a doc in there that had the students’ names and which continent they researched.

Ms. Aquilina made a simple template for the students to use for their postcards in Google Slides.  The first slide was for their picture or pictures.  They could also put their names there.  The second slide was for their research.  They also recorded themselves reading the letter, or adding questions for the people living in those continents using the Dell Webcam.  The students uploaded their video to their Drive and then made a QR code from the video.  We placed the QR code in place of the stamp on their postcards.

Once everyone was finished with their great postcards I uploaded them to a blog so we could share them out.  Go check out all of their great work at blogs.henrico.k12.va.us/KESPostcards!
