Word Study in Popplet

Word Study is in full swing in most classrooms, including my own daughter’s 1st Grade class. Today we practiced her spelling and sorting using the Popplet app. She double tapped on the Popplet page to create a Popple (fancy name for a box). Using the “T” option, she was able to type the word. She created a new box for each word and for the features. Next she color coded them based on their features by clicking on the rectangle box and selecting a different color for each feature. Then she sorted the words into the correct category. As a finishing touch, she wanted to add her name and a picture. The finished sort can be easily exported to the camera roll and uploaded to Drive, Seesaw, etc.
