Kindergarten Sorts

Kindergarten Sorting from Karen Hues on Vimeo.

Today Kindergarten students practiced their sorting skills using Pixie on the iPads and on the Promethean Board. There are a variety of pre-made activities within Pixie and you can access them from the laptop or the iPad. Once you are in Pixie, go to Open — Activities — Math — Data Analysis — Sorting. From there students sorted the apples by color on the iPad. When they were done, they sent their work to the teachers by going to send — export video (because they recorded their voice) — app — and then select SeeSaw as the app. Once in SeeSaw, they choose their name and then their work goes into their folder that the teacher can access.

While students were working on the iPads, some were working on the Promethean Board on another Pixie sorting activity in which they were sorting by shape. Partners worked at the board and took turns with sorting. When they were done, they reset the page for the next group.
