Second grade students in Mrs. Plummer’s class at Echo Lake Elementary became authors by applying insight gained from referencing diverse ABC books. Her students used divergent/flexible thinking to compare different ways to study the alphabet. Next, students tested their convergent thinking by developing sentences/clues for each letter of the alphabet based on the chosen theme of their books. Personal “New ABC Scrapbooks” were designed using the website Biteslide. Each student formatively assessed their personal books and provided feedback on four other scrapbooks at the conclusion of the project! Check out their awesome finished products!
