Adjectives With Google Slides

Today in 3rd grade at Short Pump Elementary we worked on adjectives using collaborative Google Slides. I wanted to give the students more exposure to the kind of collaboration that can be achieved through Google while working on language arts skills. These third grade students have not had a ton of experience with Google this year, so I wanted to push them a little.

Everyone logged into their Google accounts to start the lesson. I had the students pair up and then picked one random group member to be the one to start the new presentation in their Google account. Once it was started they shared it with their partner, and the partner located it in their Shared With Me folder. For the assignment the students found pictures using the search feature and each group member had to write a sentence about the picture using at least one adjective. Once the sentence was written they had to change the color of the adjective so it stood out. It took the students a couple of minutes to believe that they could all work on the presentation at the same time, but once they finally realized that they were doing some great work!
