Back to school night will be here before you know it! Here is a fun idea that you might want to try for your class this year.
I came across this picture, which is a GREAT idea to show off book reports as a hallway display. It got me thinking though. What about instead of book reports, the students could draw a cover of things that they liked or felt represented them. The back of the book could be a short paragraph telling about themselves, kind of like a synopsis of what makes them unique. This could be a way to turn it into an All About Me display perfect for back to school night!
I know what you’re thinking, “Alright that’s great, but how can we get a picture of our students?” One option is to take the picture for the students, which might work great for the younger grades. Another way to do it to pair students up and have them do it themselves using their computers to take the picture. One student can pose and the other could snap the picture.
I have been using www.pixect.com in classrooms these past couple of weeks, but it has been blocked because it accesses the webcam on the computer. Since that is the whole point of the site, and we don’t have Photo Booth anymore, we have been working to get that fixed. In the meantime another site you could use in your classroom as a Photo Booth replacement is www.webcamio.com.
