What I will miss the most about leaving the classroom and becoming an ITRT will be the last week of school. Those 5 days with your classroom family are simply the best and the reason why teaching is the best profession in the world. I wanted to share with everyone some things that I have done to make that week extremely special. Feel free to click on my links to download the templates! I also attached videos and pictures to help explain the projects. Email me if you have questions!
The 20th Reunion
What a fun way to end the school year by having a 20th school reunion! You need to prepare a speech to give to your classmates and relive some of the great memories you had at your school 20 years ago! Tell us how your elementary school prepared you for the wonderful life you have now! Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents are invited to the 20th reunion. I even have a song that the kids sing in the beginning and end that I would be willing to share that will bring tears to the families eyes. Awesome project!!!
World Cultural Day
Students are encouraged to prepare a recipe that is a family favorite and bring it in to share with their classroom. We will have our foods available for everyone to try as we celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity at our elementary school. This will be a school highlight and you will be full all day!
Math 24 Tournament
Object of the game: Make the number 24 from the four numbers on a game card. You can add, subtract, multiply and divide. Use all four numbers on the card, but use each number only once. You do not have to use all four operations. I would love to help set up brackets and run a tournament for your grade level if you are interested.

Solar Cookers
Do you and your students like hot dogs?!? If the answer is YES…. then solar cookers are the best project ever!!! Students will create their own oven that will gather heat and light energy from the sun to cook your dogs!!! I would suggest passing these directions out soon if you plan on doing this project. Awesome time! Example
Mixbook Scrapbook
If you have taken a bunch of pictures throughout the school year then I highly recommend you letting the students create their own Mixbook Scrapbook. They will LOVE this project!!!! Students can express their creativity on the computer individually or in pairs, pick their own templates, and use all the pictures to recap a wonderful school year. Parents will have the option of buying these scrapbooks OR you can just publish them online, which is what I have done in the past few years. Incredible project!
Who’s that BABY!!!
How much fun would it be having the kids try to guess each others’ baby pictures. You can even give out prizes to the students that have the most correct answers. Post them on the bulletin board, in the hallway, or even on your BLOG!!! Lots of fun!!!
