Butterfly Life Cycle with Pixie

I love working and getting great ideas from colleagues like Julie Goode!  I was able to take this idea and use it with 2nd graders.  This was the first day Mrs. Filas was introducing the Butterfly Life Cycle.  Since we knew that they have talked about it in previous years in K and 1st grade, we decided to pair up the students, break out Pixie, and have them draw, save, and make the Pixie movie.

In the class folder I made 8 Group Folders.  Each student had their own computer, and they decided with their partner which 2 phases of the life cycle they were responsible for drawing. Each student drew their phases and saved it to the group folder.  After they were all done drawing their pictures, each group used one computer, and I showed them how to open up all of their files at the same and put them together to make a video.  They were really excited about being able to add the music.  We ran out of time for them to add recordings, but Mrs. Filas is pumped about being able to go back and add the recordings and remake the videos!
