100 Years old for the 100th Day!

Well, with all these snow days, our upcoming 100th day has been pushed back a little bit. That’s okay though! It gives you a few more days to come up with fun activities for the students!

Mrs. Batkins and Mrs. Bortner at Seven Pines showed me this awesome “Aging App” called Age Yourself. This is a really fun app that uses a form of Augmented Reality to age yourself “100 Years.” It is a FREE app that has many different options and “faces” to lay over a picture you have in your photos or one you take inside the app. The only pitfall of this free app is that there are a lot of pop ups and ads. If this sort of thing worries you, there are some other paid aging apps out there such as AgingBooth for 99¢, or you could monitor the aging process and tell the students to simply continue to click the little X’s to close said ads and pop ups.

Using the idea Mrs. Batkins found on Runde’s Room Blog Page, students are going to take pictures of themselves and then age themselves “100 Years” using the Age Yourself App. Pairing the aged pictures of themselves with this Writing Organizer from the same blog page, students will have a fun visual prompt to go along with their writing.

I definitely had a little too much fun playing with the app today. Man did I get old fast! Yes, Doug Saunders, I do need to start taking care of myself:
