Today Mrs. Simpson and I did a fun patriotic symbols lesson in her first grade classroom using the app Tellagami. Students used an ipad to take a picture of the patriotic symbol they were going to make their project all about. We simply displayed these symbols one at a time on her Promethean board and had the kids come take a picture when their symbol was displayed. Click {HERE} for the pictures.
Next students created an avatar to stand in front of their symbol. They were able to record their voices telling all about their patriotic symbol. To wrap up our lesson, each child shared his/her creation with the class and in small groups. Way to go, Mrs. Simpson’s first graders!
