As you begin your plans for your classroom, please consider starting your students immediately on the computers in your classroom. You cannot keep adding jobs for your students, so it is time to replicate one small job a day on the computer. Anything your students do paper and pencil can be replicated on the computer for a small, short task. All of those short easy tasks will end up with your students knowing how to do many things, so that when you are ready for a bigger project they will already have the skills. Use the computers in your classroom every day for every child. Utilize this wonderful resource and you will be amazed what your students can do, little by little.
