Application Information:
- The Specialty Center Application for Henrico County Public Schools will be available 11/16/20.
- Current HCPS students will complete the application online. Once you get the application, take your time and present yourself in the best light possible. The committee reads everything you write, and your responses are very important.
- Resident, non-HCPS students will download a hard copy of the application and deliver directly to the Specialty Center(s) to which they are applying Specialty Center App 2020-21.
- All applicants will take a standardized test. Due to the pandemic, plans for that testing are still in development. Details forthcoming.
- All applicants will submit a video introduction of themselves. HCPS students will submit via a Schoology Dropbox; non-HCPS students may submit via a link on YouTube or Vimeo, or may include a flashdrive with their application. Please save the file as an mp4 or .mov file. If you have problems, contact Mr. Peck at rfpeck@henrico.k12.va.us

- The entire application will be submitted in January. Some middle school counseling departments will help students compile applications; check with your school counselor about their policy and deadlines for submission.

Zone Meetings:
Due to the pandemic, all information and recruitment meetings will be held virtually this year. Students may access center-specific information at each Center’s website, or at henricoschools.us.
Open House:
Prospective students and parents are encouraged to learn more about the Leadership Center program by coming to our online Open House on December 1 2020. At that event you will have an opportunity to meet current students and faculty, hear about the program in detail, and ask any questions that you might have. We hope to see you there.

Specialty Center Student Timeline
- November 16, 2020 – Application will be available online
- November 18, 2020 – Private School testing registration will open (writing prompt)
- January 13, 2020 Private School Testing Registration Deadline
- January 18, 2021– Application deadline for students
- January 25, 2021 – Middle School counselor deadline (internal) for finalizing submissions to High School programs
- March 5, 2021– Students provided online access to check application status/acceptance
- March 19, 2021 – Deadline for applicants to declare intent or accept waitlist offers online. Students may accept one center and one waitlist. Students may remain on one waitlist until March 26th @ 4:00pm
- March 26, 2021 – All students being offered a spot from the waitlist must inform specialty center chairs of their intent to accept an offer of admission.
- April 16, 2021 – All applicant status finalized
