Lesson Summary

While learning about matter and the Periodic Table, students conduct independent research to identify the characteristics of a chosen element to create a project to demonstrate their understanding of the phases of matter, how temperature affects the phases of matter, the difference between atoms, elements, molecules, and compounds, give examples of their element in each, and basic uses of the periodic table. The students present their information in a project that includes a 3-D printed element.
