Lesson Summary
There are approximately 100,000 Latinos in the Richmond metropolitan area who represent a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. As Latinos immigrate to Richmond, they establish permanent ties to their new home and begin to transform its culture. Through interviews, objects and images, The Valentine’s Museum exhibit Nuestras Historias: Latinos in Richmond, documents the region’s diverse Latino experience.
This project included a collaboration between our Spanish Immersion and ESL classes.
The ESL and Spanish Immersion students went on a field trip to the Valentine Museum as well as created a Virtual Scavenger Hunt and a Virtual Museum of their personal lives.
