Who is Mrs. Grossman?

Mrs. Grossman has been a teacher here at Trevvett her entire career of 20 years (teaching first grade, fourth grade, and kindergarten). Mrs. Grossman’s family defines “a family that kicks together, sticks together.”  Her entire family takes martial arts – her husband is a 6th degree Master, her 10 year old and 8 year old are 1st Degree Black Belts, and Mrs. Grossman is a 2nd degree Black Belt. She graduated from Longwood (twice) and Averett University with a degree in Accounting and Education. and a Masters in Management.

Her family’s favorite place to go is the public library, Libbie Mill. She loves to read, and the public library provides a variety of books, audio, magazines, DVDs, and activities for her whole family to enjoy and share together.  Every year her entire family signs up and participates in the Henrico County Public Library Summer Reading Program.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking big meals, taking her girls on historical field trip adventures, and spending time with her family at the beach.  Although Mrs. Grossman has had a few interesting occupations in her lifetime such as being an Accountant, a Triathlete, and a Karate Instructor, she believes that teaching is the most rewarding because every day teachers can make a positive difference in shaping the future of the world.

In 2020-21 and 2015-16, Mrs. Grossman earned the honor of being Trevvett’s Gilman Teacher of the Year. And in 2017, Mrs. Grossman was the recipient of the R.E.B. Teaching Excellence Award which allows her to explore the furthest corners of Virginia to study the history and geography of our state – from Williamsburg to the Eastern Shore, Northern Virginia to the Valley, and the small towns of Southwestern Virginia.
