Spring Sports At Tuckahoe Middle For 20-21 Important Tryout Information: # 5

Spring Sports Tryouts Information: Tryouts Begin Tuesday April 13

All You Need to Know!

The information below will be able help parents and athletes with tryouts, practices, procedures for virtual students and in-person students, dropping off athletes, picking up athletes, and individual team information.

Please read all the information carefully.

**Remember you must bring a filled out Athletic Emergency Card filled out correctly to tryouts as your admission ticket.

Athletic Emergency Card

Forms:

  • You will need to have turned by April 2: Physical, Rules and Regulation, Student Conduct, Covid-19, Student Activities Contract
  • You will need to bring an Athletic Emergency Card filled out correctly the first day of tryouts as your entrance ticket.

Virtual Athletes Trying Out:

  • May not arrive to school until 3:20 but must stay in the car until a coach comes out to the parking lot and calls you to practice.
  • Please look at team information to know what parking lot you must drop off and pick-up from before and after practice. This will help with social distancing.

In-person Athletes Trying Out:

  • You have the option of staying at school or going home after school and returning on time for tryouts/practice.
  • When you get to school in the morning with your equipment you must take your equipment to room 304 and then report to Advisory.
  • If you go home, you must then follow the virtual athletes’ rules when returning to school.
  • If you stay at school, you will be dismissed with the 3rd wave of car riders to go pick-up your equipment and report directly to study hall (see the individual team information to see where you report for study hall).
  • If you plan on staying after school for practice, I suggest wearing practice clothes to school, as much as possible, since we do not have locker rooms this year.

Athletes:

  • Do not come to tryouts or practice if you are feeling sick.
  • You must always have and wear mask until your coach tells you can take it off or you will not be allowed stay for practice or events. (We do not have extras.)
  • We do not have locker rooms this year because they are being used for storage.
  • Please label all your equipment, bags, water bottles, and mask.
  • NO SHARING OF WATER BOTTLES EVER!

Parents:

  • Do not send your athletes to school or practice if they are feeling sick. This is the one of the ways we will have successful season.
  • Please wait in the proper pick up locations (parking lots) for your athlete to be excused from practice, not blocking driveway in front of the school.
  • The proper locations will be given in the team information.
  • Please remember to fill out Athletic Emergency Card for the first day of tryouts.
  • Please do not drop off your athlete’s equipment at school if they are not going home after school. We need to keep the people properly social distancing all day and not walking around campus. This will keep many students out of the office during the day and at the end of the day.  In-person athletes who are staying at school MUST BRING all of their equipment to school with them in the morning.  There is no flexibility with this.  We have storage room for their equipment that must drop their equipment in room
  • We all must cooperate for this to be a success.

Track:

  • Tryouts will be split because of the numbers we are expecting (so we can socially distance and be able to evaluate better).
  • Boys will tryout April 13 and 15.
  • Girls will tryout April 16 and 19.
  • If you are staying after school, you will report to the main gym (when dismissed in the 3rd wave of riders) and sit in the taped blocks like you do in PE class.
  • The track team will be dropped off (no earlier than 3:20 and a coach must get you from the lot) and picked up in the TMS main parking lot.

Girls Soccer:

  • If you are staying after school, you will report to the courtyard area between building 5 and 6 in front Mr. Shaffer’s room 508 (when dismissed in the 3rd wave of riders). You then will be sent to 505, 508, or Café 2.
  • The soccer team will be dropped off (no earlier than 3:20 and a coach must get you from the lot) and picked up in the TMS and Ridge main parking lot.

Softball:

  • If you are staying after school, you will report to 1104 (when dismissed in the 3rd wave of riders).
  • The softball team will be dropped off (no earlier than 3:20 and a coach must get you from the lot) and picked up in the Ridge main parking lot.

Boys Tennis:

  • The tennis team will be dropped off (no earlier than 3:20 and a coach must get you from the lot) and picked up in the Tuckahoe bus loop.

Baseball:

  • If you are staying after school, you will report to the courtyard between building 9, 8, and 7 in front of Mr. Hollister’s room, 807, socially distancing (when dismissed in the 3rd wave of riders). You then will be sent to room 807 or 802.
  • The baseball team will be dropped off (no earlier than 3:20 and a coach must get you from the lot) and picked up in the Tuckahoe bus loop.

During this time things are fluid and always changing so please pay attention to Coach Thompson’s blog, the Athletic folder in the Library course in Schoology, or the announcements. We must all follow the rules and work together for this Spring Sports Season to be a success. Good luck to all during tryouts, remember Sportsmanship is a key.
