Bus Information Will Be Available on September 1
ZippSlip registration for bus transportation closed on June 17, 2016. If you are a CFA student and need bus transportation for the 2016-2017 school year, you must now fill out a paper form. A link to the form is below and also under the “Forms” tab above. Return the form as soon as possible to the CFA Office and we will forward it to the transportation office. However, because the deadline has passed, bus service may not be in place on the first day of school. Bus schedules will be available September 1.

August 30, 2016 Fee Night 2-7:30pm
THIS IS A CHANGE. There will be only one day for payment of fees for the 2016-2017 school year. The date is Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition to paying fees, students will be able to pick up their laptop. Fees may also be paid online.
NOTE: CFA students pay a $20 specialty center fee (students taking more than more CFA class pay the fee for each area.) Students taking the CFA online health class also pay a $100 fee for that course. Fees for other courses, class dues, yearbook, etc. will be tallied for you on fee night.

CFA Faculty Summer Spotlight
Take a look at what our fabulous CFA faculty are doing this summer:
Ms. Genevieve Dowdy – For the entire month of July, Ms. Dowdy is exploring the U.S. on a road trip to see art and landscape as inspiration for future work in the studio. They will spend some time seeing art museums in Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee as well to connect the AP Art History curriculum. In August she will be back in the studio at home!
Ms. Mary Scurlock – will be creating art work in her studio for an upcoming show.
Ms. Karen Moody – will be performing in Dogwood Dell’s production of Spamalot as the French Taunter/Ensemble on July 29, 30, 31 and August 5, 6 at 8:30 p.m. Free and fun for all! Several CFA Alum are also in the show with Ms. Moody – Peyton Bowen, Bridget Lundberg and Devon Mosby (Ensemble). Ms. Moody will also be teaching Theatre at the VCU Vocal Arts camp this July!
Mr. Morgan Day – is Musical Director for CharacterWorks’ production of Godspell, which runs June 30 – July 2. See http://www.cworkstheater.org/shows/GODSPELL-53 for ticket prices and other details.

Mr. Billy Dye – is performing in Virginia Repertory Theatre’s production of Dream Girls, which runs June 24 – August 7. See http://va-rep.org/ for ticket prices and other details.
Ms. Vicki Fink – will be teaching at Dogtown Theatre and collaborating with various artists in the Richmond area on future workshops.
Ms. Theresa Niermeyer – will be teaching dance at Camp Gamin this summer!
Dr. Poxon – will be performing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah with the Richmond Symphony Chorus (under the direction of Dr. Erin Freeman) at the WinterGreen Arts Festival in July. She will also be singing at Carnegie Hall with the Richmond Symphony Chorus next year!

Congratulations CFA Graduates!
We were so proud of all of our CFA graduates as they received their diplomas on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 sporting their red and black CFA honor cords. The Class of 2016 is headed in many directions and over 50% are pursuing an arts related course of study in college. Check out the senior edition of the CFA Newsletter for more details. CFA Senior Dance Showcase Friday, June 3, 2016
Come see our senior dance students in their final high school performance. The CFA Senior Dance Showcase is Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Grace Street Theatre at 7:30 p.m. $5 tickets will be sold in the CFA Office only beginning at 12:30 on Tuesday, May 31. Cash or checks payable to Henrico High School. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are very limited. NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR.
