Dear CFA Students and Parents,

First, thank you for attending the FCFA Birthday Party this past Tuesday night!  We had a record turnout of attendees – so thanks again for including the FCFA in your busy weekly schedule.  I had a great time at the party – the new 20th Celebration CFA t-shirts are fabulous (thanks again to Mr. Hanchey for his design!) and the Birthday Cake was incredible (thanks to Operadella Williams for getting the CFA logo on the cake – brilliant idea!)  Overall, it was a fun party and I’m glad that I had the chance to meet so many new parents and students!  Thanks again for becoming FCFA members and for supporting the FCFA!

Second, this will be a long e-Newsletter – sorry!  Please take a moment to read about all of the upcoming events at Henrico, at the CFA and FCFA, and within the community.  Thanks in advance!!

This college fair is a great way for you and your family to learn about the various colleges and universities throughout the country that offer degrees in the visual and performing arts.  For information about the college fair, please see:  http://www.nacacnet.org/EventsTraining/CollegeFairs/pva/Pages/10PDC.aspx.  In addition, please read this article that was published in the New York Times that references this college fair:  http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/11/answers-to-your-questions-about-college-theater-programs/.

Please return your signed permission form, along with your payment, to your CFA teacher by Friday, October 1.  If you have any questions about this event, please give me a call in the CFA Office!

CYT Richmond’s Artistic Director, Brooke Abrahamsen (and her husband, Ryan) are expecting their first child in September…but they are not the only ones expanding…CYT Richmond is expanding too! After 9 years in Richmond, CYT is looking forward to officially launching the Southside area. Each area will have local classes AND a separate musical production beginning this winter. That means lots more stage opportunities for lots more kids with 2 musical productions each session! AND since we are expanding to 2 complete areas/shows/camps, we are also expanding our office and warehouse space to a new combined location in October just off of Broad Street / Dickens Road. Lots more room for lot more sets, costumes, props, etc! Because of all these expansions going on, we have decided to change our annual “Encore” fall auction fundraising event into a big OPEN-HOUSE CYT EXPANSION PARTY at our new warehouse once we move in. The exact date for this October event will be announced once we have our move-in dates set so be on the lookout for an email party announcement! Everyone will be invited!

Whew…this has been a long e-Newsletter – thanks for reading to the end!
