Summary

Students will give a digital presentation by recording a presentation collaborated by small groups and created using Google Slides and exported to create a video . In today’s world, people are being asked to make videos that teach, explain, or sell an item, so students will need to practice using technology while still making the presentation clear and engaging while demonstrating mastery of English grammar. The goal of the student is to create an informative and original video on a grammar topic of their choice (taken from a list I give them). The video will fully teach the topic in an educational and memorable way. Students will use their research skills to located useful information while working with another classmate to accomplish their task Some questions to ponder while completing their project.

Research & Information Fluency

Rating: Approaching – Explanation: Students Constructed questions and researched about a topic from an approved teacher list. Information was collected using multiple resources including online, print, and media. Students took research information from self generated questions to create notes which included important concepts, summaries, and identification of information sources.

Communication & Collaboration

Rating: Approaching – Explanation: Students chose a another member of the class who they felt would be easy to work with and be able to contribute towards a common project. Through the use of Google, students were able to work together while completing their own personal tasks. After the completion of their project, students will share these projects via teacher blog.

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

Rating: ideal – Explanation: Students generated and responded to questions while researching a topic. Students justified their decisions through final notes shared on google with their collaborators. They had to use their research findings in order to complete a video to teach others about the topic. They reflected upon their own project as well as other projects by providing feedback after watching class presentations.

Creativity & Innovation

Rating: Ideal – Explanation: Students researched the need for proper grammar and were tasked to teach others through media. Students used their research finding to create a specific video that would engage the audience. They researched the trends of other videos to create an original video that would best serve the goals they wanted to accomplish. Students were able to reflect upon their projects throughout the process so they could make changes as they saw fit. Videos would be posted on teacher blog so their original work would be shared.
