Summary
Photography students engage in a “consultant client relationship” to provide motivational composite posters. Such posters consist of high quality photographs, keywords and quotations. In this real world scenario, the client is the school principal who seeks to enrich the school’s environment by tapping the creativity and design expertise of the photography students.
Working in small teams and with words from a list of motivational terms and values, students brainstorm ideas and designs for composite posters. The student teams work with curriculum departments to ensure that the values, quotations and images best represent specific departments and the school overall. The composite posters are created, printed and foam core mounted, and displayed throughout the school.
The composite posters project is a ‘win-win’ endeavor; students receive school-wide recognition for their creativity and efforts while the environment of the school is enhanced by the beauty of the artwork as well the emphasis on essential shared values.
