Reading Olympics Book Trailers – Enticing Others to Read Great Books!

Lesson Summary

Students create book trailers based on their choices of their favorite Reading Olympics’ books.  Students utilize WeVideo, images, and other resources in order to develop original informative and persuasive videos that give viewers a “taste” of their favorite book.  Videos will be shared with other students through Library website and with upcoming 5th graders who would like to participate in the reading program.

Rating: Approaching – Explanation: Students research appropriate images and audio to apply to their book trailers.  They apply their knowledge of the video technology tool through a process of trial and error.

Rating: Approaching – Explanation: Students acquire the help of their peers and librarian when assessing appropriate means to create video and elicit feedback from their peers and teachers when determining the success of their creation (video elements).
