The Homefront: America during WW II – 7883

Summary

Students analyzed the impact of World War 2 on the homefront in America.  Students used various forms of media to directly access the best possible material from the period in order to understand the impact that World War 2 had on the citizens who remained on the American homefront.  Students watched videos, took notes, reviewed propaganda, and read stories and poems about people’s experiences at home in America during the war.  Students analyzed this information to arrive at their own conclusions about how people in America’s lives were impacted by the war.  After these conclusions about those conditions, then used that information to write a front page newspaper article that described the impact the war had on Americans at home.
