Summary

The Roaring Twenties are covered in a number of different avenues where students will explore the decade through many different web based programs and a good number of primary sources. We will use www.padlet.com, www.thinglink.com, and www.prezi.com to anchor a set of lessons that will have the students discovering the decade of study. There will be an assortment of activities and subsequently, evaluations long the way that will keep our students accountable to their work, centered almost solely on the research and development of each student individually and as a group at different levels.

TIPC Ratings

By using three different programs as their tools, students will create a finished project from period photographs. There will be some broader instruction that will coincide with their investigation and project creation, but that instruction will be another tool for them to draw their research from. Students researched and discovered their own content about the Roaring Twenties for this project.

Students will have some guidelines, asking them to complete different exercises in different formats. (ex. Thinglink, Padlet and Prezi), but have the freedom to solve their different problems however they choose. Their presentations will be close to an Ideal environment, asking them to present their information as they choose to, defining that presentation as they deem necessary.

There is minimal guidance as to how the problems are solved. The questions are not defined or outlined in a text or on any one website. The questions they are investigating will have many opportunities to be created, based on the pre-conceived notions of the author. We want the investigative process to be authentic, thus the reason why we began the process with primary source photographs.

There is no template. There is no set requirements of what types of information they may present to support their arguments or their presentations. Students are modeled through earlier activities, simply to build the confidence to build something that is uniquely their own in later projects.
