Character Vokis – 4608

Summary

In this lesson students will be given the opportunity to design an avatar as a group called a “voki” using the voki website. Their avatar must be a character from our novel study, Holes. Each students will be given a specific job to do for their group. One group member will be in charge of designing the avatar on the voki website. Another group member will be in charge of gathering information about their chosen character. They will work with another group member to write a descriptive paragraph describing their character in detail using vivid vocabulary and figurative language. Next, students will collaborate and discuss the best methods to use to advertise their voki to a major toy company. At the conclusion of the lesson, students will vote as a class on which voki characters should be sold to the company.
