TIPC Ratings

Developing – Students brainstormed ideas and organized their research using a Google Doc. It was within this doc that students began to formulate their ideas and assign specific group roles & tasks. The students had to construct questions in order to determine the best location for their restaurant, competitive pricing, and what food would be served on the menu. The students had to locate the information using Advanced Google search techniques and were not given the option to use the information they found online as long as they deemed the site credible (updated, author, legit. etc.)

Developing – Students worked collaboratively using Google Drive. It was determined by the students that they would use Google Docs for brainstorming ideas and generating research. Google Sites was the tool of choice for the restaurant web design. Since both of these tools are housed in the cloud it allowed for the group to work on this project at any time on any device without direct supervision.

Approaching – Students had to compare and contrast surrounding restaurant pricing, slogans, commercials, and marketing in order to get a sense of website design and layout. They had to think about geographical location and take into account the surrounding demographics in determining the best location to build this restaurant.

Approaching – Students were able to choose a tool of their choice to advertise and promote their restaurant. They were not limited to any one specific piece of software or online tool. Some of the student artifact choices included Weebly, Google Sites, Pixlr, Windows Movie Maker, Google slides, or a combination of tools. They were excited by the fact that they were the creators of meaningful, original work that reflected real world ingenuity.
