Students are instructed to research this topic using various search engines (of their choice) on the internet. The students find, navigate through and evaluate large amounts of information. The result is a digital presentation in which the students use the information and resources gathered. Students develop real world skills by researching businesses that exist today as well as preparing for the FBLA Business Presentation competitive event.
Ideal Target: Students communicate and collaborate effectively to create a product. As a small group project the students are required to communicate with each other. The students in each small group will select appropriate technology, and collaborate to create their original multimedia product. This presentation will be shared at the state and/or national level of the Future Business Leaders of America competitive events.
Ideal/Target: The students choose multiple resources (such as Facebook, Twitter, websites, blogs, etc.) to develop patterns of evidence and draw conclusions regarding the use of social networking to communicate with business clients. The real world issue that students address in this project is that of effective business/client communication. The project scenario challenges students to apply critical thinking skills to the real world issue of communication that most businesses face. The real-world activity that students face is to create a presentation that is worthy of being presented in any business conference room. At the end of each presentation, the class will ask open-ended questions that would be typical of a potential business client.
Ideal/Target: Students are allowed to use any digital tools (including software) at their disposal for research and to create the presentation. Students are given the opportunity to share ideas within the classroom and collaborate to create an end product. Students use their critical thinking skills to determine the best methods to use in creating the multimedia presentation. Since the presentation is a Future Business Leaders of America project, the audience will be a group of judges outside of the classroom. The students must create a project that will communicate their unique ideas to the audience.
