Ancient Mali Research Project

Summary

The students will perform research on a topic of Ancient Mali. The students will then use their research to create a Promethean flipchart. When the students have completed their research they will then present their flipchart to the class. Students will be evaluated on their flipcharts and presentations.

TIPC Ratings

Ideal/Target – The students chose the best resource to complete their project. They determined if the source was useful to their project. They also connected what they learned to authentic situations.

Students chose their own partners. The students then performed research, constructed a flip chart, and presented it while collaborating with a partner. The students then shared their knowledge regardless of time zone or physical distances using the class blog.

The students used prior knowledge and what they found in their research to construct their flip charts. The students then used their knowledge to answer open-ended questions.

The students created a flip chart based on their research. The students made their project collaboratively with their partners. The students made their flip charts to be presented to the class. They also participated in self and peer reflection via the class blog.
