Severe Weather Podcast

Summary

Students will use knowledge of severe types of weather to create a severe weather podcast using

TIPC Ratings

Target/Ideal: Students researched with their partner a form of severe weather. They used trade books as well as One Search to find information to use in their podcasts.

Students worked with a partner to collaboratively create their original podcast. The teacher
uploaded each podcast to iTunes to share with the class during a presentation. Podcasts were
also uploaded to the class website and/or class blog site for parents to view.

Students had to be able to take the weather information taught in class and apply it to their weather podcast. Students used critical thinking skills to correctly apply information that they
researched into their podcast.

The students created an original script to record in GarageBand, and added their choice of
appropriate sound effects.
