Glance at a Golden Week 2.18-2.22

Happy Friday friends! I don’t know about y’all, but I will be so happy when this rain moves out of the area! I hope you all have a relaxing, DRY weekend!

A LOOK INTO ROOM 8:

Reading- We began our unit on figurative language including personification, metaphor, simile, hyperbole, alliteration, and onomatopoeia. These forms of figurative language use words to convey a meaning that is different from their literal meaning and are found mostly in poetry. I encourage students to study these forms at home as we continue our unit next week!

Writing- The students completed their silent movie projects in which they created a movie using only quotes to communicate. Students were required to use all three forms of quotes in their project and focused on the proper usage of punctuation and capitalization.Social Studies- We continued exploring the Social Studies Alive!textbook as they completed guided notes about the Northeast region. Next week we will conclude our unit on the Northeast, so students should continue reviewing their study guide and notes!Math & Science- Visit Miss Capano’s blog to read what students did in math and science this week!
