Glance at a Golden Week 10.29-11.2

Signs of Fall are officially here and so is our BOOK FAIR! Students had the opportunity to preview the books that are available to purchase today. The book fair officially opens next week. Students may shop during the day all week and families are invited for afterschool shopping on Wednesday and Thursday.  Click here for details.

Miss Capano and I will be holding joint conferences during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday evening next week. We are eager to meet to discuss the progress and successes that each student is making, as well as what to expect in the next nine weeks. Please head to our conference sign up sheet to confirm your meeting or select a time to meet with us!

 A LOOK INTO ROOM 8:

Reading- We completed our study of nonfiction summarizing with an in class nonfiction book report wreath. The students combined their skills with roots and affixes, summarizing, key vocabulary, new learning, and text features. The final projects turned out great!

Writing- The students began their final assessment for the quarter. They received a prompt and completed a pre-write with a graphic organizer to generate ideas prior to writing. We have one more prompt and graphic organizer to fill out for Monday!

Social Studies- We concluded our unit on Henrico County. The students reviewed using a Jeopardy game and completed a final assessment.
