Hurricane Sandy is no match for the Old Guard!

Over the past week, we have been talking about our own American heroes – Veterans!  In getting ready for Veteran’s Day, we have been watching a Pentagon documentary on the Old Guard – the men who protect the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.  What my students have been the most amazed with is that no matter the weather – snow, sleet, hurricane – the Old Guard still protects the Tomb.  Check out a picture from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier today and show this to your children!  They are going to love it!  Stay safe and I’ll see you when I see you!
