Overview
As the Secondary/High School Mathematics Specialist, it is my goal to inspire our teachers to provide a high quality mathematics education for all students. Teachers should actively engage our students in diverse learning experiences that inspire and empower them to become contributing citizens. Students will be challenged to develop mathematical skills in problem solving, communication, reasoning, connections, and representations as they gain knowledge of mathematics.
Online Resources
It is my belief that our instructional materials and resources should be available to all. Because of that, I am totally transparent with our math documents and post them on the Henrico County math website for the world to use. I strive to create a “one-stop shop” that combines resources from the Virginia Department of Education with our own instructional materials, best practices, assessment items, and website links in an easy to navigate site. In doing so, we can provide teachers, parents, and students with an instructionally sound website that is interactive and engaging and helps students understand, learn and remember mathematics.
I want to thank the teachers in Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) and surrounding school divisions for contributing their ideas, time, and materials to our math website.
