Week 11 Update

Week 12 is upon us already?! Whoa… This means I have had three amazing months with my students. They are growing so much every week. It is really wonderful to see them blossom and learn so much in just a short amount of time. Just think how much they will grow by the end of the year! 🙂

A big highlight from this week was our Veteran’s Day Performance featuring our lovely first graders! They did so well!

This week in social studies, we learned about famous Americans of Jamestown: Pocahontas, Powhatan, and Christopher Newport. We also learned about the differences between settlers’ houses and longhouses. In math we started learning about place value (tens and ones). We studied beginning and final blend sounds, wrote about something we observed, and practiced the five finger retell during whole group story time. They are doing awesome!
