Dear Families,

The world’s a little confusing for all of us right now—grown ups and little ones alike—but one thing’s for sure, when you’re safe at home with family, everything feels a whole lot better. Henrico County Public Schools has extended the closure and now school is CLOSED until Tuesday, April 14th.

As you have probably noticed this week in working with your child, the HCPS Distance Learning Packet that you received has enough engaging activities to last the entire closure period. For more information, please visit the HCPS Distance Learning site: https://sites.google.com/henrico.k12.va.us/hcpsdistancelearning/kg-1

We also ask that you please continue some of the routines you had in place before the closure.

Please realize your child does not have to do online work during this closure. It is NOT required. It’s just a suggestion for those who would like to do more or can access online resources. If you do not have access, focus on the Distance Learning Packet activities (which do not require internet or electronics).

A message from Mrs. Bushey, our school counselor: In these uncertain times, it is so important that we take care of ourselves – both physically and mentally. Lots of thoughts and feelings will arise during this time. This link includes resources about how to talk to students about the Coronavirus, how to deal with fear and anxiety, mindfulness strategies, and coping skills, please visit http://blogs.henrico.k12.va.us/blbushey

We miss our little ones. Please let them know they are welcome to email us a message or picture anytime. We will be checking our email daily, please reach out if you have any questions/concerns. I sincerely hope each and every one of you and your loved ones stay healthy over the next few weeks.
