About Me

Karen Shaia, our school counselor, joins the Kaechele team coming from Tuckahoe Elementary School. Her career in school counseling includes 17 years of experience with Henrico County. Mrs. Shaia graduated with a master of education degree with a specialization in school counseling from VCU, after completing her undergraduate teaching degree at Radford University.  She enjoyed 9 years of teaching elementary students. Being an elementary school counselor is really a passion for Mrs. Shaia!  When relaxing and having fun, you can find Mrs. Shaia on her boat at Lake Anna, with her two amazing children, her loving husband,  and a dog named Gracie. Along with boating, Mrs. Shaia loves reading and bike riding.  As Kaechele’s school counselor, Mrs. Shaia looks forward to working together with teachers, students, parents, and staff to build successful students.
