Advanced Placement (AP) courses were created and are overseen by the College Board. They are rigorous classes which operate under a national curriculum prescribed by the College Board. Successful completion of an AP class has been correlated to higher success rates in college. Students may participate in an AP exam and also be granted credit in college based on their score from the AP exam. However, whether or not a college awards credit for an AP exam depends on a variety of factors: AP exam score, intended program of study or the college’s own criteria. Godwin High School offers the following AP classes. These classes may not be offered every year at Godwin.
