Your child will bring home a field trip permission slip tomorrow. We are going to go to the Mero Richmond Zoo on Friday, April 29. Please complete the permission slip and follow the directions below to pay:

To pay online:
1. Go to the OSP (Online School Payments) site http://osp.osmsinc.com/HenricoVA
2. Select Elementary and “Colonial Trail Elementary School.”
3. Then find 1st grade and your child’s teacher.
4. Select the item and click “Add to Cart” at the bottom to checkout.
If you are creating an account for the first time, you will be asked to set up your student(s) in the Student Profile.
A 4% site processing fee will be automatically added to your purchase price.
If you would like to be considered as a chaperone, please note it on the permission slip. I will choose volunteers and notify them. They will also need to pay the fee. This week we will begin to focus on all students completing at least 5 lessons each week on Dreambox and completing their goals for reading weekly on Lexia. Please have your child show you on their computer where to find their completed lessons and goals. This will be included as part of their weekly homework.
This week we will learn:
Language: r controlled vowel (er) in words such as: germ, perch and term, review story elements, making predictions and sequencing
Math: Measurement
Science: Spring and the changes that happen from winter to spring
Social Studies: Economics (wants/needs, goods/services, consumers/producers, savings and choices)
