Visual and Performing Arts Summer Governor’s School – Interest Meeting – Thursday, October 7 @ 4:00-4:45 p.m.
Each year, our students have the opportunity to apply for the Visual and Performing Arts Summer Governor’s School, a program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education. If accepted, students will spend a month in residence on the Radford University campus, taking classes and enhancing their skills in the fields of Visual Arts, Dance, Music and Theatre. More information about the program can be found at this link:

Henrico High School can send TWO students in each of these discipline areas to the regional auditions in January. In order to qualify for the regional auditions, students must complete an in-house audition at HHS to earn one of the two spots. We will hold an interest meeting for students who want to learn about the application process and to explain the audition requirements.
The Visual and Performing Arts Summer Residential Governor’s School Interest meeting will be held on Thursday, October 7 from 4:00-4:45 in the CFA Visual Arts Building Studio 3 – Ms. Scurlock’s room. This meeting is for any HHS/CFA student who is a CURRENT 10th or 11th grade student who is interested in applying. You MUST be a current 10th or 11th grade student to apply for the VPA Summer Governor’s School.
If you have any questions about the VPA Governor’s School, please see Dr. Poxon. Hope to see you at the meeting!
