It’s only the second week out of school, and you’re probably already saying, “I’m bored! There’s nothing to do!” Well, you would be wrong! There is so much going on in the Richmond Arts Community, but this post is about one of our own Guest Artists, Desiree Roots Centeio. Desiree is currently playing 3 roles in The Wiz which opened at VaRep last weekend to rave reviews. Richmond Family Magazine says, “THE WIZ is a must-see for everyone and perfect for families with kids ages six and up. Bring a little sparkle to your night by… easing on down to Broad Street. You will be entertained, amused and completely blown away by this family-friendly production.” Local critic, Jerry Williams of TVJerry gave it 5 out of 5 stars, and said this about Desiree, “In 3 roles, Desirée Roots is the funniest she’s ever been.” Richmond is very fortunate to have such quality theatre right in our backyard, and how cool to be able to say, “I took a class with Ms. Roots Centeio at CFA!” Dont miss this production! It runs through August 4th!
