How to Accept or Decline Your Offer to Attend CFA in 2017-2018

Students selected to attend the Center for the Arts at Henrico High School for the 2017 – 2018 school year must accept or decline their offer by March 24, 2017.   Current middle school students will do this ONLINE while students currently attending high school, private school or homeschool will do so by email to CFA Director Dr. Stephanie Poxon.   Please read the directions BELOW on how to ACCEPT or DECLINE your offer.

For current middle school students, the ONLINE instructions are as follows:

  • The student response window opened on Friday, March 10th at 4:30 PM.

  • Students are expected to login to the online applicant program and submit responses through dropdown selections.

  • Students have the option to Accept or Not Accept an offer for any Selected and/or Waitlisted statuses . Students are only allowed to accept an offer or waitlist offer at ONE center.

  • The student response window is scheduled to close on Friday, March 24th.

 Step by Step Directions:

  1. Website address: https://hcpsapps.henrico.k12.va.us/

  2. Students will login using their HCPS Credentials. Note: Parents/Guardians, your credentials for the parent portal will not work for this site.  Only student credentials have access.

  3. Select Student Response Tab to review all application statuses.

  4. There are three possible statuses: Selected, Not Selected, and Waitlisted .

  5. There are two possible responses: Accept or Did Not Accept .

  6. Students will make selections per instructions at the top of the page.

  7. Students have the option to Accept or Not Accept an offer for any Selected and/or Waitlisted statuses.

  8. The student response window is scheduled to close on Friday, March 24th.

If you have questions or concerns, please see your child’s school counselor.

HOME SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL, or HCPS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT (in other words, you are NOT currently a HCPS MIDDLE STUDENT), you must ACCEPT or DECLINE your offer by sending an e-mail to Dr. Poxon no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017.  Please send your e-mail to Dr. Stephanie Poxon, Director, CFA at slpoxon@henrico.k12.va.us.

TWO IMPORTANT FORMS FOR STUDENTS ACCEPTING THEIR OFFER:

  1. All students ACCEPTING their offer will need to complete a course request form.  Please circle every class and level needed for the 2017-18 school year.  RETURN THIS DOCUMENT TO THE CFA OFFICE BY March 24, 2017.  This form may be downloaded by clicking on the following link:  CFA Course Registration 2017

  2. Summer Online Health course registration materials for Dance, Musical Theatre and Theatre students.  Read the registration instructions carefully.  Course registration deadline: March 31, 2017.  Note – this is only needed if you are selecting the THEATRE LEVEL I program.  This is not needed for VISUAL ARTS LEVEL I.   This document may be downloaded by clicking on the following link:  Online CFA Health Registration 2017

 

There will be a CFA orientation meeting for all new/incoming CFA Parents and Students on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Henrico High School Auditorium for all new CFA students and their parents.  Students will receive their CFA syllabus and supply list at this meeting.
