Review: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” brings back the childhood memories of sitting in a movie theater and eating buttery popcorn and candy and crying because you are laughing so hard.

The film is a sequel to the 2009 “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.” The 2013 edition is a family film with danger, romance and adventure.

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” is like the original with a twist. The movie begins with a childhood role model for Flint (Bill Hader). Flint looks up to Chester (Will Forte) and wants to be exactly like him, but he finds out later that he is nothing like his television image.

In the original film, food comes from the sky. Flint’s famous invention takes in rain from the sky, and then produces food from the bottom. In the second film, the food takes over Shallow Falls. Chester says the food animals are dangerous. In reality, Chester is making the food mad because he is trying to destroy its environment.

The biggest food is a spider cheeseburger. Instead of a web, the spider cheeseburger has a cheese web. Some other food animals, like the strawberry and the pickles, cannot hurt a fly. Sam (Anna Faris) names the strawberry Berry. They have a cute connection.

A character that nobody can forget is Steve (Neil Patrick). He is a spastic monkey that loves to have fun. Steve is Flint’s secretary, and he can talk. Flint has created a little box that has a big red button on it. Once the button is pushed, “celebration” appears. Flint says “celebration” when the crew is in danger and finds Chester.

Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn are the directors of this magnificent film. This movie is great, but it is very similar to the first movie. Make sure you eat a full course meal before attending this film. The food animals look real and delicious. Popcorn will not fill your stomach up.
