When students return next year, Promethean boards, fresh paint and new furniture will replace the tractors, forklifts and cranes of the school’s five-year renovation. During the final phase of construction, workers made improvements to the gym, music rooms, canopies, sidewalks, parking lots and system of surveillance cameras.
We can say thank you to many people for their hard work and dedication including Assistant Principal Katy Noah. She has been the liaison between the construction workers and the school for the entire renovation. She has worked hard to make sure that the students and staff have the safest learning environment possible, while keeping the project on schedule. Every day she faced concerns about what could possibly go wrong on the construction site. Due to her supervision, construction has remained on schedule, and the school has overcome all renovation challenges.
It is true that construction has, at times, been disruptive and distracting, but next year the learning environment will be on a par with other high schools in the county, making the reward well worth the headaches.
Principal Tracie Omohundro said students and staff can finally see the finish line, and Mrs. Noah’s keen eye and attention to detail contributed to the success of the renovation.
Students and teachers are eager to enjoy their newly renovated classrooms, so thank you, Mrs. Noah, for all your hard work.
