2013 Posts: March is “Youth Art Month”

Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual, nationwide observance that is held each March to celebrate the value of art education and to encourage public support for quality art programs. 

 Please mark your calendars for these special events:

*All month long- Twin Hickory Area Library Art Exhibit featuring K-5 art in the children’s section

*Monday, March 10th from 6:30-8:30PM- Spirit Night & Art Opening featuring 5th grade “Pop Portraits” at TCBY located at 9468 West Broad Street

*Tuesday, March 18th from 6:30-8:00PM- “Fine Arts Festival” at SPES: attend the PTA meeting in the gym at 7PM featuring the 3rd grade harmonica performance, and browse the gallery of K-5 artwork in the main hallway accompanied by instrumental music performed by students (plus the dedication of the “Water is Life” mural created by Mrs. Moore’s 4th graders)

*Friday, March 21st– “Dress Like an Artist Day” at SPES: come dressed as your favorite artist, then meet in the Art Room following AM announcements for a group picture
