This fall we’ve been “Cooking Up Success” in Art class by creating food-related projects. KG & 1st grade students constructed yummy-looking “Ice Cream Cone” collages made out of construction paper & mixed media. 2nd & 3rd grade students pretended to be chefs at a fancy restaurant and assembled gourmet-looking “Pizza Pie” collages loaded with toppings. And, 4th & 5th grade students have been studying the art of the Italian Renaissance painter, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, then assembling their own “Fruit & Vegetable Face” collages made up of cut-out magazine pictures of fruits, vegetables, flowers, leaves, and other natural objects.
